Stonesdale is a delightful, spacious property situated at the edge of the picturesque market town of Hawes. Completed in 2009 this excellent property is part of a small mews development close to the market place. From its hillside position there are magnificent views of the town and glorious Yorkshire Dales countryside.
Perfect for couples or two families sharing, the house has four bedrooms two of which are master suites with king size beds, en suite showers and WCs. The house is warm and cosy and suitable for all year round visits having oil fired central heating. There's a welcoming wood burning stove in the sitting room and here you'll be able to sink into the comfortable leather sofas and relax with favourite films or TV or listen to music. Stonesdale has an excellent kitchen and dining area with bespoke hand made units, range style electric cooker, Belfast sink, granite worktops and limestone floor and dining table seating eight.
On the first floor are three bedrooms and the house bathroom, one master suite with en suite and king size bed, one double room with king size bed and a further bedroom with twin beds. For those who like a soak at the end of the day, the house bathroom with a Victorian slipper bath with shower over is perfect! The second floor has another master bedroom with en suite. Each bedroom has a 42" flat screen TV.
There are spectacular views of the town and surrounding hills from Stonesdale's lovely front garden and for those warm summer evenings, there's a paved patio area with barbeque. At the rear there's a quiet outdoor seating area.
This is walking country and there are excellent walks from the door in all directions. Hawes is right at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and makes a great place from which to explore the surrounding Dales. The Southern Lake District is easily accessible from here too.
The house is handy for the local shops, pubs, tea rooms and craft shops as it's only 500 yds from the market place. The Wensleydale Creamery is just down the road and you can taste the cheese and watch the process of cheese making from a viewing gallery. While you're there, a visit to the Wensleydale Creamery tearooms is highly recommended!
Hawes has had a tradition of rope making for well over a hundred years and a visit to Hawes Ropemakers to watch the process of making fine strands or yarn into strong ropes is fascinating. The Hawes Pottery and Dales Countryside Museum are also close by and worth a visit.
