Dating back to the 17th century, this period house was home to the last act of private and domestic warfare in England, possession of the house was fought over by Sir Thomas Metcalfe, known as the Black Knight of Nappa and Mrs Robinson.

Thankfully the house now nestles in serenity amongst some of the prettiest scenery to be found in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, within a working farm environment and shooting estate.

In an elevated position, the house is well placed for taking in the views not least from the conservatory where visitors can look over the landscaped gardens to the fields and hills beyond, but also down to Semerwater.
